There is quite a range of symptoms that may occur during a panic attack and they will vary from person to person. These are some of the most common symptoms:
· Breathlessness - feeling like you can’t breath
· Racing heartbeat
· Chest tightness
· Shaking or trembling
· Nausea
· Hot or cold flushes
· Tingling in fingers, toes or face
· Sweaty palms
· Shivering
· Upset stomach
· Foggy head
· Weakness
Other symptoms that people may experience are thought symptoms or cognitive symptoms. These might include:
· Overwhelming sense of dread
· Fear of dying
· Fear that you are going crazy
· Fear of the attack itself
· Fear of others watching you
· Fear of fainting or passing out
Sometimes the fear itself is enough to bring on future attacks and often there is just an overwhelming sense of fear even though you aren’t sure what you are even afraid of.
Panic is a normal bodily response to a dangerous situation but panic attacks are when your body reacts irrationally in situations that don’t require a panic response.
If you are suffering from panic attacks then you do need to seek help or take action to overcome your attacks. If you do nothing you will continue to have them and they can ruin your life.
Don’t put up with panic attacks in your life, take action to stop them for good..
